A Client's Insight

This image was designed by Emma, a five-year old. She was asked to draw a picture of her family.

Looking at the picture, she explained, "That's my daddy, my mommy, my brother Jim, me, and 'Baby Angel'." When she said that, her mother's face registered surprise. The mother went on to explain, "When Emma was three-years old, I had a miscarriage... and Emma remembered that and made 'Baby Angel' part of her family."

When Emma was asked, "What is that on Jimmy's chest?" she stood up, walked up to my chair, looked at me with tear-filled eyes, and said, "That's my brother Jimmy and he has a hurt in his heart and he's here so you can fix the hurt, because that's what you do."

Everyday I remember the faith and trust young Emma placed in me, and I do my utmost to live up to it.
